The chronological resume format is a simple one that contains very basic information only. When using the chronological resume template, keep phrases and sentences short and to the point. How to Use The Chronological Resume Template

The chronological resume format spotlights your work history in reverse order, meaning that your current job or the last position you held is listed first. Place an emphasis on your accomplishments when summarizing.

If you are new to the workplace or have been out of the workforce for an extended period of time, a functional or combination resume might be a better choice as the chronological resume format is best for those with strong work histories.

While this type of resume focuses primarily on work history, it is possible to include some additional elements that apply to your particular situation and / or the position you are applying for.
